So, I got the call on my answering
machine at work that the camera was finally in.
Unfortunately, my lenses were not. I "borrowed" a 35-80mm f4-5.6
USM that was priced at $68 in the used section of the store.
IIRC, this is the lens that comes packaged with some of the Rebel
models, and seems a bit flimsy. Definitely seems a bit slow
(forget about indoor shots without a flash).
So, after spending a couple hours learning the basics for the camera
last night, I took it to work this morning with full intentions to just
fool around. On the way home, I stopped by the Meadowlark
Botanical Garden, and took some handheld shots of the flowers.
The camera was mostly in Av mode, with sharpness at +2. ISO was
mainly 100, with a couple at 200 (later photos).
Photos identified as USM are unsharp masked at 97%, 1.1 radius, 2
levels.
Needless to say, I am very pleased that I don't appear to have any
fuzziness or focus issues, and look forward to what a "real" lens can
do.
